How do we spend our Pupil Deprivation Grant (PDG)?
We are required by the Welsh Government to publish how we spend our PDG. The PDG is the grant that the Welsh Government allocate to each school in Wales in order to ensure that the school does all that it can to close the achievement gap between those children who are eligible for free meals (eFSM) and those children who are not.
This year we were awarded £49,350 PDG. So far we have spent:
£29,507 on the cost of salaries for teachers who work with our eFSM pupils
£6,171 on the cost of salaries for our teaching assistants who work with our eFSM pupils
£2,730 on the cost of a relief TA to work with our pupils who are eFSM to develop their literacy and numeracy skills and
£7,450 on the cost of leasing ipads so that we are able to offer these so that children are able to complete their homework.
This leaves a balance of £3,492 to buy a number of literacy and numeracy resources that are designed to challenge our more able eFSM learners.
We also have a grant of £4,200 which we have not yet received for our pupils in Nursery and Reception who are eligible for FSM.
