16th January, 2017.
As you will have heard by now I have decided to stay on as Headteacher at Roath Park for another year and thus I will be retiring at the end of the next academic year, ie 2017-18. I have taken this decision as I feel that the school needs stable leadership as we seek to build on and even improve the quality of teaching and learning that is taking place at our school. I am really excited about the strategies and plans that we have for our school and the aim to make Roath Park one of the top primary schools in Wales. In terms of pupil attainment and achievement we are already well on our way which is shown by our amazing results at the end of Foundation Phase and Key Stage 2 (the Juniors). Our aim is to sustain these remarkable standards whilst ensuring that we do not lose sight of the fact that our whole school ethos revolves around educating the whole child. We need to make sure that our children develop their natural love of learning and that they appreciate the Arts, Sport and that they develop as responsible, respectful members of their community.
This cannot be done by the school alone as so I would like to thank you for your continued support - we go from strength to strength as a school based on all of us working together and every one of our pupils are great examples of what we expect Roath Park pupils to be - kind, caring, enthusiastic and motivated learners.
