As I have just two months left as Headteacher of the school it is a really good time to take stock of our current situation. My congratulations to Mr Jonathan Keohane who is going to be the new Headteacher and Jonathan and the Governors are in the process of appointing a new Deputy Headteacher. As a parent or carer you should be really excited about the strategies and plans that Jonathan and the Governors have for our school and their aim to make Roath Park one of the top primary schools in Wales. In terms of pupil attainment and achievement we are already well on our way which is shown by our amazing results at the end of Foundation Phase and Key Stage 2 (the Juniors). Their aim is to sustain these remarkable standards whilst ensuring that they do not lose sight of the fact that the whole school ethos revolves around educating the whole child. They need to make sure that our children develop their natural love of learning and that they appreciate the Arts, Sport and that they develop as responsible, respectful members of their community.
This cannot be done by the school alone as so I would like to thank you for your support during the last fourteen years- the school goes from strength to strength because the whole school community works together and every one of our pupils are great examples of what we expect Roath Park pupils to be - kind, caring, enthusiastic and motivated learners. This will continue long into the future.
