Literacy

Hi - My name is Mr Parsons - I teach in Year 2 and I am a senior teacher at the school. I am responsible for the development of children's literacy skills across the school. If you have any questions, please pop in and see me.

In May each year all children from Year 2 to Year 6 will have a national reading comprehension test. It is a test designed to see what literacy skills the children have learned during the academic year.

We also have parents' evening where we support our parents to help them help their children at home. We have just launched a new reading programme that is on line called 'Giglets'. Your child should have a user name and password that they have brought home to help you read together.

If you would like to help your child to prepare for these tests, please go to the Learning Wales website or to the Parents' page - 'Helping Your Child with...'.
