Our topic this term is Superheroes and we will be teaching all the skills through that theme.  If you have any good ideas, books, artefacts related to the topic please let us know.

W/C Monday 18th September

This week we are matching amounts and adding 1 more/ working out 1 less.  We will be teaching the children to logon to RM Easimaths and showing them how to access the games at home.  RM Easimaths is used throughout the school by many of the children and our data shows that the children who use it regularly at home to support their learning in school have made tremendous amounts of progress.  Over the next few weeks we will be teaching the children how to use RM Easimaths and then we will send the children's logins home.  Mr Edwards and myself will run a parents workshop at the end of September which we invite you to attend to find out more.  In literacy the children will be writing and illustrating a story about a superhero, they will also be making puppets and recording ideas for a drama workshop related to the story later this term.

In the Finger Gym our physical tasks will enable the children to practise a range of skills in order to strengthen fingers and increase dexterity.  The tasks this week include threading beads, making towers and target practise games.  As part of Humanities we are learning about Betsi Cadwallader and in Science and Technology we are learning about ourselves and what makes us SUPER!!  This week we are looking at x-rays and learning about and drawing the skeleton.  We are also learning about our senses.  We have a lot of creative tasks which the children help us plan during COOL Challenges.  Our focused creative task is painting our Superhero selves to be displayed on our welcome board.
