Welcome to the PTA

All parents, teachers and other school staff belong to the PTA so please do come along to meetings and events. The PTA needs the support of the school community to work, without you there would be no PTA!

OUR NEXT MEETING IS OUR AGM

SEPTEMBER 18TH 2019 - 7PM

Our Annual General Meeting. We will vote in our committee for this year and talk about the events we want to run. Come along, join us in shaping how we support our school. All welcome.

If you can't join our meetings please message the Facebook page or find one of the committee members with your ideas, opinions and concerns. They will be happy to address all matter of topics.

Full minutes of the last meeting are available on our Information page.

We have lots of events coming up – and we rely on the excellent support of parent volunteers to make them successful. If you think you could help, or want to find out more, head to our Helpers page

Heres to Summer 2019!

What a great year it has been for the PTA, and we want to thank you all so much for your support. There have been lots of great events and fun socials bringing our community together.

The Funds we Raised
We’ve raised a fantastic £4,526.02 profit. When we meet at the AGM on 18th September, we will be discussing how best to spend the money. When deciding what to buy we will ask, does it benefit all the children in the school? Ideas put forward have include playground equipment, kit for school club and setting up a musical instrument hire scheme. We welcome other suggestions. Come along and help us decide - it’s there for your children, and we want you to have your say.

This year we have helped pay to set up the ‘Party Packs’ in school, contributed to the Year 6 Leavers’ party and we have agreed to contribute towards permanent stage lighting for the school shows (which the school has hired in previous years).

The Events this Year
November began with Eco-boutique, we reused and recycled a huge amount of clothes. The Christmas Fayre was fun as always. March brought us the free Book Swap, with over 2000 titles changing hands. Also, Quiz Night, was really well attended by parents and staff. The Mother’s Day hamper raffle and gift sale were a success, using the Gift Amnesty donations. In April, families took part in the Easter Hunt, which was especially popular with Foundation aged children. Then in May, Skittles Night at the Albany was free social event for parents meet and let their hair down. In June we revived the free school Eid Party gathering in the Hall to complement the class parties. Then the Summer Fayre - we closed the road and moved to a Saturday making it bigger with added free entertainment and activities. To end the term, we are now officially registered as a charity.

What’s coming up?
Our AGM is on Wednesday 18th September. Join us to help shape next term’s events. In the pipeline we have the Cardiff Half, Family 2K and Sponsored Cheer, promoting exercise and supporting the kind parents who are running round Cardiff to raise money for our PTA! Eco-Boutique and Christmas Fayre are planned for the autumn term. Plus, we’d love to revive the Christmas shopping evening, perhaps with a crafty twist - what do you think? And a brand new social event in school – Bingo! We’ve been wondering whether to do family bingo after school plus an adults version later on, tell us what you think would work. And Christmas cards too, but earlier on in the term.
How can you get involved?
Come to our meetings! Send us messages pta@roathparkprm.co.uk. Make suggestions, volunteer, attend our events and enjoy yourselves with your family. We are all welcome.
